- Armed robbery crew has hit Cash America pawn shops four times across Chicago since early July — no arrests so far.
- The four robberies:
- July 2, 9:28 a.m. — 4558 S. Cicero Ave. (Garfield Ridge)
- July 6, 10:03 a.m. — 1441 N. Milwaukee Ave. (Wicker Park)
- Aug. 1, 4:15 p.m. — 4558 S. Cicero Ave. again (Garfield Ridge)
- Aug. 13, 10:57 a.m. — 2337 W. Cermak Rd. (Lower West Side)
- Method: The crew arrives in a stolen gray or white Acura MDX, enters armed with handguns, forces employees to open the safe, and smashes jewelry display cases.
- Taken: Cash from safes and jewelry; in two incidents they also took an employee's wallet and cellphone.
- Violence: Employees were physically attacked in two of the robberies.
- Offender descriptions: Black males, roughly 5'10" to 6' tall, 130–230 pounds.
